Prayagraj, March 9 -- The Maha Kumbh has ended. The grand spectacle of faith, where millions gathered to cleanse their sins in the sacred waters, has faded into memories. But for 869 families, the echoes of separation still linger in the air.

Their loved ones came to Prayagraj with them-only to vanish into the endless waves of the crowd.

The lost and found center in the Kumbh Mela area, once bustling with desperate voices and hopeful eyes, now stands eerily quiet. Posters of missing people flutter in the soft breeze, their faces staring blankly at the passersby. Some of these papers have rewards scrawled across them, as if money could bridge the unbearable distance between families.
