Mumbai, Oct. 22 -- In a drop in the number of deaths and infections, as many as 180 people succumbed to Covid-19 and 8,142 others tested positive for the pandemic in various parts of the state on Wednesday.
A day after Maharashtra logged 213 deaths and 8,151 infections, the number of deaths came down by 33 to take the daily fatality to 180, while the infected cases dropped by 9 to take the daily infection tally to 8142.
With 180 fresh deaths, the Covid-19 toll rose from 42,453 to 42,633. Similarly with 8,142 new infections, the total infected cases jumped from 16,09,516 to 16,17,658.
