Gwalior, April 18 -- In a strong rebuke, the Gwalior bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court has ordered departmental action and contempt proceedings against Bhopal DIG Mayank Awasthi for allegedly suppressing crucial call detail records (CDRs) in a murder case that occurred in Gwalior.
The court questioned whether such an officer is fit to remain in service, stating sharply, "Is an officer like this worthy of holding a post in the department?"
At the time of the incident, Mayank Awasthi was posted as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Datia.
