Lucknow, March 6 -- A Lucknow Court on Wednesday imposed a fine of '200 on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for repeatedly failing to appear before it in connection with a case related to his remarks on freedom fighter Veer Savarkar.

The Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) also issued a strict warning, directing Gandhi to appear before the court on April 14, 2025, failing which he could face legal consequences.

The case originated from a complaint filed by Nripendra Pandey, who objected to a statement made by Rahul Gandhi during a press conference in Akola, Maharashtra, on December 17, 2022.
