Kangra, Feb. 24 -- Panic gripped the Fatehpur area of Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday after locals discovered a live hand grenade lying in the bushes. The incident occurred around 12:30 pm, when a resident, who had gone to fetch fodder for his livestock, spotted the explosive and immediately alerted the police.
As the news spread, fear and tension escalated in the area. Acting swiftly, the local police cordoned off the site to prevent any untoward incident and informed the Army authorities in Pathankot. A bomb disposal team, along with SP Nurpur Ashok Ratan, rushed to the scene and confirmed that the grenade was live. Army personnel began efforts to safely defuse it, ensuring the safety of the local population.
