Bhopal, April 26 -- Months after complaints first surfaced, over 30 light poles on Ambedkar Bridge remain non-functional, turning the 2.75-kilometre stretch into a dangerous, shadowy passage.
The bridge, connecting Gayatri Mandir to Ganesh Mandir, features 154 poles fitted with 774 lights. Today, dark patches are growing as lighting failures spread unchecked.
Each pole carries three lights-a base strip, a central lamp, and a red warning tip. All three types are affected, but the red tip lights fail most frequently.
A month ago, The Pioneer reported three dead poles outside DB Mall. That number has now climbed to five. These unlit zones put lives at risk.
