Kolkata, July 2 -- The police have come to know that though the South Calcutta Law College authorities had been informed about the gang rape having taken place inside the college premises within hours of the dastardly act having been committed on June 25 the Governing Body chose to look right through the matter instead of taking immediate cognisance of it, sources said.

According to sources, Vice Principal Nayana Chattopadhyay, who was on Tuesday grilled by the police officials for several hours reportedly told the investigators that she was informed about the incident on June 26 and in turn, she "immediately brought it to the notice of the GB president Ashok Deb," who is also a senior Trinamool Congress MLA and a former member of the Bar ...
