BHOPAL, Feb. 10 -- Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday claimed that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) could have won 5-7 more seats in the recently concluded Delhi Assembly elections if its leader Arvind Kejriwal had not alleged that the Yamuna River was being "poisoned."
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a decisive victory in the Delhi polls, winning 48 out of 70 seats, thereby ending AAP's reign in the national capital. Among the prominent defeated candidates was Kejriwal himself, who lost from the New Delhi constituency.
The conference was organised to brief the media on key provisions of the Union Budget. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, BJP State President VD Sharma, and other leaders were also present at the event.
