India, Nov. 17 -- Jan Suraaj Party (JSP), led by poll strategist Prashant Kishor, has alleged that the Bihar Government diverted World Bank funds to the tune of Rs14,000 crore to sponsor cash transfers to women ahead of elections. The party was decimated in the recently concluded polls.
The JSP described the move as "a clear misuse of public money and an unethical attempt to sway the electoral process," and demanded a thorough investigation.
The Nitish Kumar-led State Government had transferred Rs10,000 to 1.25 crore women voters under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana in the run-up to the polls.
