BHOPAL, Jan. 28 -- Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday emphasized the importance of creating awareness about liquor prohibition, stating that the campaign can only succeed through joint efforts by the government and society. Addressing a Republic Day function at Nehru Stadium in Indore, Yadav inspected the ceremonial parade and reiterated the government's commitment to curbing liquor sales in religious towns.
Earlier, the state cabinet, on January 24, decided to ban the sale of liquor in 17 religious cities and towns of Madhya Pradesh.
