New Delhi, Aug. 14 -- In a clear signal of India's commitment to its time-tested partnership with Russia, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will travel to Moscow on August 21, weeks after National Security Adviser Ajit Doval's recent visit and ahead of a potential meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Vladimir Putin during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in China.
The back-to-back engagements underscore India's resolve to reinforce its strategic partnership with Russia - even as tensions rise with the United States, which has imposed a steep 50 per cent tariff on Indian goods in response to New Delhi's continued import of Russian oil.
