According to the latest government data, the average literacy rate of the state has now reached 73.85 percent, which takes it ahead of big states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. According to the report of the Union Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation, the average literacy rate in the country is 77.5 percent.
