New Delhi, June 13 -- Hindus are the fourth-largest religious category, after Christians, Muslims and religiously unaffiliated people. Islam is the fastest-growing religion in the world, with the Muslim population growing by 347 million in 10 years between 2010 and 2020. Christianity is the second fastest rising religion, followed by 'nones' or people with no religious affiliation.
According to 'Global Religious Landscape' report, by the Pew Research Center, the number of Hindus worldwide grew 12 per cent from 2010 to 2020, rising from a little less than 1.1 billion to nearly 1.2 billion. Since non-Hindus grew at about the same rate, Hindus remained stable as a percentage or share of the global population.
