Investigation into misuse of Minority Scholarship Scheme begins

Bhopal, July 2 -- The Crime Branch has initiated a major investigation following a written complaint received on June 17, 2025, from the Assistant Director, Backward Classes and Minority Welfare, Bhopal District. The complaint alleges large-scale misuse of the Minority Scholarship Scheme administered by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India. The complaint, filed before the Commissioner of Police, Urban Police, Bhopal, highlights serious irregularities and fraudulent practices by several educational institutions in availing scholarship funds during the academic year 2021-2022.
