Indore, May 27 -- In a first, authorities in Indore have initiated proceedings to cancel plot registrations in illegal colonies, with developers also required to refund the amount paid by buyers.
Collector Ashish Singh has directed the Colony Cell to initiate the process of nullifying registrations in cases where FIRs have been filed, or court proceedings are ongoing, and the colonies have been officially declared illegal. Colonisers will be legally bound to return the money received from buyers.
The decision came during a review meeting chaired by Singh. Officials present included District Panchayat CEO Siddharth Jain, IDA CEO RP Ahirwar, Additional Collector Rinkesh Vaishya, Rajendra Raghuvanshi, and Nisha Damor.
