New Delhi, Aug. 1 -- In response to former US President Donald Trump's surprise imposition of 25 per cent tariffs on Indian imports and 'Dead Economy' jibe, India's Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday said the Government is actively assessing the situation and will take all necessary steps to protect national interests.
Piyush Goyal, addressing Parliament, confirmed that his ministry has initiated consultations with key stakeholders, including exporters, industry leaders and representatives from the MSME sector, to evaluate the potential impact of the new tariffs.
