India, June 28 -- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has proposed that the lingering border dispute between India and China should be solved under a structured roadmap comprising steps to deescalate tensions along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and rejuvenate the existing mechanism to demarcate the borders.
He mooted these suggestions to his Chinese counterpart Admiral Dong Jun during bilateral talks on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) conclave in Qingdao, China on Thursday. The talks were held with a focus on maintaining peace and tranquility at the LAC.
