Indore, June 1 -- The Indore Municipal Corporation on Saturday morning used controlled explosives to bring down a four-storey building after the property owner allegedly failed to respond to notices issued by the civic body.

According to sources, explosives were placed in more than 10 structural pillars. Once triggered, the entire structure collapsed instantly, sending up a massive cloud of dust across the area.

The action was taken after authorities found the building had been constructed right next to a drain in violation of municipal norms. As per regulations, no permanent structure is allowed within nine metres of a drain.
