India, Nov. 4 -- Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport handled a record 6.7 lakh international transit passengers over the past year. This is a sharp 34 per cent jump from the previous year. The growth makes Delhi a global aviation hub, rivalling airports in Dubai and Singapore. The increase came mainly from East-West-East routes, with Air India and IndiGo leading the surge. Together, the two airlines accounted for more than 90% of all transit traffic through Delhi, according to data released by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), operated by the GMR Aero-led consortium.
