India, Nov. 21 -- IFFI opened in Goa bringing together filmmakers, actors and cinephiles from across the world for a nine-day celebration of cinema. The festival, one of Asia's oldest and most influential, will run until November 28 and features a wide slate of screenings, masterclasses and cultural events.

Rekha-starrer "Umrao Jaan", Guru Dutt's "Pyaasa" and Ritwik Ghatak's "Subarnarekha" are among the 10 restored classics to be screened at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). "Umrao Jaan" and "Gaman" are two of the Muzaffar Ali films that have been restored and will be screened on November 21 and 22.
