Shimla, May 26 -- A deepening crisis has engulfed the Himachal Pradesh Police following an unprecedented public showdown between Director General of Police (DGP) Atul Verma and Shimla Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi. The DGP has now recommended the immediate suspension of SP Gandhi, citing charges of insubordination, misconduct, and levelling "unsubstantiated and inappropriate" allegations against top government functionaries.
