Lucknow, March 13 -- When Ankit Sharma (name changed) received a job offer for an AI analyst role in Myanmar, he thought his luck had finally turned. The 26-year-old engineering graduate from Lucknow had been job hunting for months when he stumbled upon a lucrative opportunity through a recruiter on LinkedIn. The salary package-'70,000 per month-seemed too good to ignore. Within weeks, he and several others were flown to Bangkok, only to realise they had walked into a trap.
As many as 266 Indians, who have been victims of fake job offers in Myanmar and Thailand, were repatriated on Tuesday, the External Affairs Ministry said in a statement. This was in addition to 283 Indian nationals who were repatriated on Monday.
