Gurugram, April 17 -- In a shocking incident, a hotel owner was shot dead and his worker was injured by three bike-borne armed assailants in Gurugram's Pataudi area late at night on Tuesday, police said.

The initial police investigation revealed that the dhaba owner was murdered due to an old rivalry.

According to the information, the incident took place at 'Jhopdi

Dhaba, located in Jatauli Mandi in the Pataudi area.

It is being said that the three bike-borne armed assailants came to the hotel late at night on Tuesday; there, they first asked for a soft drink and then opened fire on the dhaba owner, identified as Deepender alias Monu (37) of Jatauli, and his worker, Mahender (50), a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
