NEW DELHI, Jan. 30 -- A 58-year-old homeless woman died after being hit by a Hyundai Creta car merely 100 meters from the Connaught place Police Station in New Delhi area on Monday night. Police have arrested the 27-year-old car driver who works at a private company in Gurugram. Police have ruled out the claim that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

The accused has been identified as Sukhbir Parmar, a resident of Gurugram, who was on his way to the railway station when the incident occurred.

"The incident took place at around 11 pm when the unidentified woman was crossing the road near the Bangla Saheb Gurudwara when Parmar who was behind the wheels of the creta allegedly hit her.
