India, Nov. 14 -- In a one-of-a-kind request, a 34-year-old bachelor from Akola district in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra has shot off an emotional letter to the NCP (SP) Chief Sharad Pawar, urging him to "play cupid" and help find a bride for him.

The letter, written by an unmarried man from the farmers' suicide-hit belt of Vidarbha region, surfaced from a pile of letters and memorandums handed over to the 84-year-old Pawar at a public meeting, when he visited Akola on November 8.

"I am already 34. I am growing old. I fear that I may never get married. I am suffering from loneliness. Please consider my plea and help me find a life partner.
