Bhopal, April 16 -- A heat wave is expected to sweep across several parts of Madhya Pradesh beginning April 16, with Indore, Gwalior, Ujjain, and the Chambal divisions likely to be most affected. Prior to this, light rain is forecast in some eastern districts, according to the Meteorological Department.

The department has predicted soaring temperatures across Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Chambal, and Narmadapuram divisions, with mercury levels expected to cross 40degC. Simultaneously, a reduction in rainfall and storm activity is anticipated, signaling the onset of dry and intense summer conditions.
