Chandigarh, Nov. 20 -- Haryana Pond and Waste Water Management Authority will develop 18 model ponds on a pilot project basis and based on their experiences, a future action plan will be prepared for the renovation of other ponds in the state.

This was stated by Chief Secretary Keshni Anand Arora on Tuesday during a meeting of the Pond and Waste Water Management Authority here. A presentation on the action plan for the next 10 years for the renovation of the ponds was also made during the meeting. Arora directed the officials that the classification of the ponds should be done in such a way that fish farming can be promoted and they can be used as a traditional water source in the villages.
