Ranchi, Feb. 22 -- Governor Droupadi Murmu on Thursday said that the Tribal and Regional Language (TRL) Department of Ranchi University (RU) must have separate departments for each prominent triballanguage.

In order to improve the quality of education at each of these departments, the university must recruit nine professors, 18 associate professors and 18 assistant professors, she added.

At present, a total of nine tribal languages are taught in the TRL department of RU. The most prominent languages taught here include Mundari, Santhali, Kurukh, Kurmali, Kortha and Panchpargania.
