India, Nov. 8 -- The Gujarat Government on Friday announced a Rs 10,000 crore relief package for farmers whose crops were damaged due to the recent unseasonal rains. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel made the announcement following a comprehensive review of the losses incurred by farmers, said Agriculture Minister and government spokesperson Jitu Vaghani.

The government will provide assistance of Rs 22,000 per hectare, up to a maximum of two hectares per farmer, Vaghani told reporters in Gandhinagar.
