India, Sept. 11 -- Delhi Government is fully committed and sensitive towards farmers and rural residents in the wake of recent floods and will ensure adequate compensation for the damaged crops, Development Minister Kapil Mishra said on Wednesday.
He gave this assurance after carried out an on the ground inspection of the affected areas along with Social Development Minister Ravindra Indraj Singh.
During the inspection, Mishra said Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is extremely concerned about the floods in the Yamuna River.
The sight of completely destroyed crops of vegetables, paddy and other produce brought home the pain of the farmers. The condition of the river's flow and breached embankments was also assessed.
