New Delhi, July 20 -- To modernise the city's ageing water supply infrastructure, the Delhi Government will replace old water pipelines under a new Water Master Plan, Water Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma said on Saturday.
During a constituency visit, the minister highlighted the urgent need for upgrades, pointing to pipelines that are 40 to 80 years old as a key cause of water contamination and supply disruptions. "There are many places in Delhi where people face issues of polluted water. It is because water pipelines are decades old," Verma said.
