Lucknow, Oct. 23 -- With the entire state heading towards becoming open defection-free, the state government has decided to bring a new UP State Septage Management Policy for treatment of waste of the septic tanks in 652 urban local bodies by the year 2023.
The decision was taken on Tuesday in the state cabinet meeting which was chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The cost will be borne by the consumers and the new policy will have three phases. Till the end of 2019, the target of the septage management will be assessed and by 2021-end, the second phase will be completed when the data is completed and by 2023, the whole process will be implemented.
