India, Oct. 5 -- The Delhi Government will shortly begin an annual verification of beneficiaries receiving financial assistance under various social welfare schemes to ensure that only genuine and eligible individuals continue to receive support. The move aims to improve transparency and efficiency in the disbursal of funds, benefitting nearly six lakh people.

The Delhi Cabinet recently approved this step to ensure that Government support reaches the right people. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that millions of needy individuals benefit from social welfare schemes, and annual verification will help maintain transparency and fairness.
