India, Jan. 10 -- The Delhi Government has increased the Capital expenditure from Rs 28,115 crore to Rs 30,248 crore in the revised estimate for the current fiscal year 2025-26 to pump more money into infrastructure, transport, education and civic services while retaining its budget size at '1 lakh crore. This was approved in the Delhi Assembly on Friday.
The revised estimates show a clear shift towards Capital spending. More funds have been directed at roads, metro projects, public transport, municipal bodies and power subsidies that directly affect daily life in the capital. Revenue expenditure has been reduced. Officials said the move reflects a focus on building assets rather than routine spending.
