India, Oct. 3 -- In an effort to further smoothen the process of providing relief to Kashmiri migrant families now living in the national capital, the government has done away with the income ceiling and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said payments will begin soon.

Announcing this on Thursday, she said her government has taken two significant decisions after meeting representatives of the displaced community along with Education Minister Ashish Sood.

Firstly, the income ceiling of Rs 26,800 per month has been abolished. From now on, all registered Kashmiri migrant families will receive the allowance regardless of their current income.
