RAIPUR, March 20 -- Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday said his government was analyzing the losses to farmers due to unseasonal rains and hailstorm across the state and due compensation would be provided.

The untimely rains in northern Chhattisgarh and in districts like Marwahi, Gourella, Pendra, Korea, Bilaspur, Dhamtari, Rajnandgaon and Kawardha the past few days have caused massive damage crops.

The standing Rabi crops and even horticulture crops like banana and papaya were badly devastated. Roads and fields in some areas were also badly hit.

But the weather provided relief to people from the scorching heat.
