India, Nov. 27 -- There is now heightened awareness on the crucial need for the world to take action against human-induced climate change. This includes initiatives by Governments, businesses, civil society and, in general, the public at large. It was in 2011 that the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) brought out a special report on Managing the Risks of Extreme Events and Disasters to Advance Climate Change Adaptation, which altered perceptions about climate change.
