Mumbai, Jan. 30 -- The suspected Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) - an automotive disorder where the body's immune system attacks the nervous system - claimed one more life in Maharashtra on Wednesday. 20 GBS patients continued to be on ventilator in various hospitals of Pune district.

The total number of patients, which stood at 111 on Tuesday, rose to 127 on Wednesday, as more number of patients with suspected BDS were admitted to various hospitals in Pune district. A man from Pune had earlier died at a private hospital at Solapur in western Maharashtra. With one more death, the total number GBS deaths in Maharashtra has gone up to two.
