India, Sept. 8 -- Farmers in over 50 villages across north, north south and west Delhi are ruing the losses they have suffered during the floods, submerging their vegetables, crops, millet and paddy crops. It is estimated that at least 50 villages have taken a major hit due to floods this year.
Satish, a farmer from Wazirabad expressed concerns about his future crops. "Even if the waters recede soon, the soil is ruined. I don't know if I will be able to plant anything this season. The Government's help will take time, but my family needs immediate support," he said.
Manoj Gurjar, who cultivates wheat and vegetables on leased land in Wazirabad, revealed the financial blow the disaster has dealt him.
