BHAWANIPATNA, Sept. 24 -- Vigilance officials on Wednesday arrested Anupam Bag, Station Officer, Narla Fire Station in Kalahandi district, for allegedly demanding and receiving a bribe of Rs 4,000.
According to official sources, Bag had demanded the bribe from one Barun Kumar Sahu of the district to issue a Fire Certificate in connection with latter's burnt car for insurance claim. Sahu had lodged a complaint in this regard with Vigilance authorities. A trap was laid by the Vigilance sleuths and Bag was caught red-handed while accepting bribe at his office chamber. The bribe amount was recovered from official's possession.
