Bhopal, March 17 -- Gandhi Medical College (GMC) will soon offer in-house CT scan and MRI services at Hamidia Hospital under new National Medical Commission (NMC) regulations requiring hospitals to manage these facilities themselves. The shift aims to improve patient convenience and streamline diagnostic services at the government-run hospital.
The hospital administration has completed preparations, with a Rs 6 crore CT scan machine being installed in Block One. A Rs 12 crore MRI machine is expected within a week. Currently, these services operate under a private partnership in the old hospital building, requiring patients to travel 700 metres in extreme heat, often on stretchers or wheelchairs, to access the facilities.
