Lucknow, Oct. 24 -- A massive explosion near the residence of Bharatiya Janata Party MLA, Major Sunil Dutt Dwivedi, in Farrukhabad on Wednesday created panic in the area.
Senior officers, who immediately rushed to the spot on getting information about the blast, tried to dilute the matter, saying it some firecrackers may have exploded.
Due to the impact of the explosion, window panes of several near-by houses were broken.
As the blast occurred in a bag abandoned at the spot, the locals suspect the hands of some subversive forces behind it.
A case was registered and investigations are on.
