ECoR 1st rail zone to load 250 MT freight in single FY

BHUBANESWAR, March 28 -- : Surpassing all records of Indian Railways, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has loaded 250 million tonnes of freight in 2023-24 financial year (FY).

The ECoR loaded 250 million tonnes of freight from April 1, 2023 to March 25, 2024, said the Ministry of Railways in a statement.

With this, the ECoR became the first railway zone in the country to cross the milestone of 200 million tonnes of freight loading for the fifth time in a row. It has become the first railway zone in the country to load 250 million tonnes of freight in a single financial year, added the Ministry.
