NEW DELHI, Feb. 27 -- As the voters' apathy has become a major concern for the poll body during the elections, the Election Commission (EC) has roped post offices and banks to reach out voters as part of its efforts to increase voting percentage ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, a first of its kind initiative so far.

The EC has often expressed concern over urban and youth apathy with many registered voters not turning up at the polling stations to cast ballot in the previous elections. This was visible in the recent Assembly polls held in the past few years.
