Kolkata, March 5 -- The full bench of Election Commission of India on Monday warned the senior Bengal bureaucrats against playing partisan games ahead of the elections.
In a meeting with the top officials - including SPs and DMs - of North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Jhargram, Raiganj and other places the ECI told that their conduct was being closely watched and if required they would be shifted from their position.
The SP of North 24 Parganas of which the Sandeshkhali blocks is a part, the ECI said the way he handled the situation there was deplorable and he would continue to be under close surveillance of the ECI.
