New Delhi, April 14 -- The national capital has recorded a decline in major crimes in the first quarter of 2025, according to data shared by the Delhi Police. "A comparative analysis of crime statistics from January 1 to March 31 over the last three years reveals both encouraging trends and areas requiring continued focus," a senior police officer said. In 2025, murder cases stood at 107, slightly up from 105 last year but lower than the 115 cases reported in 2023 - a 6.95 per cent drop over a three-year period. Attempt to murder cases surged from 158 in 2023 to 203 in 2024 but dropped to 168 in 2025, marking a 6.32 per cent overall increase compared to 2023.
