Mumbai, March 4 -- Ayurvedic doctor Dr Ajit Nawale, who has led several farmers' protests and marches across the state in the past, has been unanimously elected as Maharashtra's State Secretary of Communist Party of India (Marxist).
Dr Nawale (47) has emerged as the youngest State Secretary of the CPI(M) in the country.
Dr Nawale was instrumental in organising the historic march of peasants and tribals from Nashik to Mumbai in March 2018. At that time, the images of blistered feet of farmers had created traction among the people across the country.
