New Delhi, Feb. 16 -- A video from the Delhi Metro has gone viral on social media, showing passengers jumping over the exit gate at Jama Masjid Metro Station. The incident took place on February 13 at 11.22pm. According to officials, the surge in commuters occurred when two trains arrived at the station simultaneously, leading to a heavy rush at the exit gate. At that moment, the gate reportedly stopped functioning, further adding to the congestion. In response, authorities allowed passengers to exit through a side gate. In the video, a large number of people could be seen jumping over the automated fare collection (AFC) gates with many filming the act on their cellphones.
