Mandsaur, May 11 -- In a major step toward modernizing wildlife conservation efforts, the Madhya Pradesh Forest Department has equipped frontline staff at Gandhisagar Wildlife Sanctuary with advanced smartphones integrated with digital surveillance applications to enhance real-time monitoring, patrolling, and protection of reintroduced cheetahs.
The devices, distributed under a strategic digital empowerment initiative, are loaded with specialized apps including M-Stripes (Monitoring System for Tigers - Intensive Protection and Ecological Status), Locus, and Van Suvidha. These tools are designed to streamline field operations, enabling forest personnel to record patrol activities, track wildlife movements, and report incidents instantly.
