Kolkata, July 25 -- Bollywood star Mithun Chakrabarty on Thursday rejected all allegations of harassment of Bengali migrant workers in the BJP ruled States leveled by Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Saying that the Chief Minister was creating a false narrative in run up to the next year's Assembly elections, the actor-turned-BJP leader said, "nowhere in the country the Bengalis are facing any kind of harassment," adding "this is a false narrative created by the Trinamool Congress."

The Chief Minister was "running short of issues," which was why she was spreading the lies "to instigate the people of Bengal" to reap dividends ahead of the next year's Assembly elections.
